Pumpkin Pie

If you want to please your loved ones, especially the little ones in the house, then Pumpkin Pie will be the one for you.  Well, it is a delicious dessert, with a crunchy base, and the creamy and soft texture of the pumpkin makes a great contrast.  In addition, it contains all the nutrients that pumpkin provides.

Ingredients

• 200 grams of butter at room temperature.

• 150 grams of wheat flour.  You can even replace it with oats.

• 1 tablespoon of brown sugar.

• 3 large eggs.

• 500 grams of cooked and crushed pumpkin.  (porridge type)

• 1 pinch of salt.

• 100 grams of milk cream.

• A tablespoon of cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg and cloves.

• 150 grams of piloncillo.

Steps

Pumpkin pie is super simple, the most laborious part of this dessert is preparing the base.  But, as you continue to practice making it with other types of cakes, it will become much easier and faster.

Step 1

In a bowl add the butter chopped into pieces and blend it.  Then, add the flour and sugar and begin to integrate everything to form the dough that is the base.

Step 2

Add an egg and continue kneading to obtain a homogeneous consistency.  It is important that you check that the dough is not dry, in this case you must add a little water.

Step 3

Reserve in the refrigerator for about 45 minutes to make it easier to shape.

Step 4

Use a cake pan with a diameter of 25 cm.  Then, grease and roll out the dough with the help of a rolling pin.  It is necessary to cover both the base and the ends of the mold.  Then, cut the excess edges.

Step 5

Preheat the oven to about 200°C and bake the base for 10 minutes or until you notice it is golden.  Remove from the oven and let it cool.

Step 6

In a bowl, place the pumpkin puree, the milk cream and the spices and begin to mix them with the help of a manual or electric mixer.

Step 7

Take the previous mixture and fill the entire bottom of your base.  Then, bake for 40 minutes or the pumpkin is completely cooked.  Reserve for 3 hours in the refrigerator.
