Black Forest roulade
Black Forest roulade
A Black Forest roulade is a decadent dessert that combines the rich flavors of chocolate and cherry. It typically consists of a light and fluffy chocolate sponge cake rolled up with a creamy filling of whipped cream and cherries.
Ingredients
5 eggs
1 cup (tea) sugar
3 tablespoons of chocolate powder
1 and 1/2 cup (tea) wheat flour
1/2 cup (tea) milk
1 teaspoon of baking powder
Margarine for greasing
Filling
1 package of unflavored gelatin powder
3 tablespoons of water
1 can of cream (300g)
1/2 cup chopped cherry in syrup (reserve the syrup)
Chocolate sprinkles for sprinkling
Method of preparation
Beat the eggs and sugar in a blender for 3 minutes or until foamy. Add the sifted chocolate and flour, milk and continue beating to mix. Turn off, add the yeast and mix with a spoon.
Grease a medium rectangular pan with margarine and place a sheet of baking paper. Grease the paper and pour the dough, smoothing it with a spoon.
Bake in a preheated medium oven for 30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Reserve. For the filling, sprinkle the gelatin over the water and let it hydrate for 5 minutes.
Place over low heat to dissolve, without letting it boil and turn off. Pour into the blender and beat with the cream and cherry syrup. Turn off, add the chopped cherry and mix with a spoon.
Turn out the cold dough onto a clean, slightly damp kitchen towel and remove the paper. Spread the filling and roll it up with the help of the cloth. Wrap it in the cloth, leaving it firm and refrigerate for 6 hours.
Unwrap, transfer to a platter, sprinkle with chocolate sprinkles and serve in slices. If desired, decorate with cherries in syrup
