INGREDIENTS
600 g pork neck
250 g bacon
3 onions
2 cloves of garlic
500 g peppers (red, yellow and green)
½ bunch of parsley
2 tbsp sunflower oil
Salt
2 tbsp tomato paste (double concentrated)
1 tsp sugar
2 tbsp curry powder
3 tbsp paprika powder (sweet)
400 ml vegetable broth
400 ml pureed tomatoes
freshly ground pepper
PREPARATION
1. Pat the meat dry with kitchen paper, cut the pork neck into bite-sized pieces and the bacon into 0.5 cm cubes.
2. Peel the onions and garlic, cut the onions into cubes and chop the garlic finely. Wash the peppers, drain them, remove the core and dice the peppers. Wash the parsley, drain it and cut it into strips.
3. Heat sunflower oil in a pot, add pork neck, fry for 2-3 minutes until golden brown, season with salt and set aside. Drain the bacon in the remaining fat, add the diced peppers, fry over medium heat for 1-2 minutes and also remove from the pot.
4. Add the onions and garlic to the pot and sauté for about 1 minute. Stir in tomato paste with sugar, curry and paprika powder and deglaze with broth. Add the fried meat, diced peppers and pureed tomatoes and simmer with the lid closed for about 40 minutes until the stew is slightly creamy.
5. Season the shashlik pot with salt and pepper, sprinkle with parsley and enjoy with rice, potatoes or pasta as desired. Bon appetit!
