Currywurst
With our simple recipe you can make the very best currywurst yourself! The homemade curry sauce tastes SO delicious and fruity!
INGREDIENTS
2 white bratwurst
1 medium onion
6 tbsp sunflower oil
1 tbsp curry powder (and some for sprinkling)
2 tsp tomato paste
100 ml orange juice
400 g pureed tomatoes
1 tsp sugar
1 teaspoon paprika powder
1 pinch of cinnamon
some salt and pepper
½ tsp chili powder
PREPARATION
1. Cut the sausages into ½ cm thin slices. Peel the onion, dice finely and sauté in sunflower oil. Add the curry powder and fry for 2 minutes. Now add the tomato paste and roast briefly. Deglaze with the orange juice and let it boil down.
2. Add the pureed tomatoes and the spices (sugar, paprika powder, cinnamon, salt and pepper). Simmer for about 20 minutes and then puree with a hand blender. Finally add the chili powder.
3. Heat a pan with the remaining sunflower oil and fry the sausage slices on both sides until crispy. Dab on kitchen paper. Mix the sausage with the curry sauce and sprinkle with curry powder before serving. Bon appetit!
