Waffle cake

Waffle cake

Cake without baking: This waffle cake with a fine cream made from cream and quark is not only surprisingly delicious, but also the easiest cake in the world!

INGREDIENTS

1 jar of Morello cherries (approx. 370 g drained weight)
3 tbsp vanilla pudding powder
750 g cream
500 g quark
2 packs of vanilla sugar
4 tbsp sugar
500 g fresh egg waffles

PREPARATION

1. For the cherry jelly, place the cherries with the cherry juice in a small pot.  Remove 6 tablespoons of the cherry juice and stir with the pudding powder until smooth.

Add the mixed pudding powder to the cherries and bring to the boil over medium heat.  Simmer gently for 1 minute.  Take it from the stove and let it cool off.

2. For the filling, whip the cream with vanilla sugar until stiff.  Mix the curd with sugar.  Fold in the whipped cream.

3. Place half of the waffles either on a baking sheet or in a baking dish.  Spread the cream and quark cream evenly over the waffles and smooth it out.

Spread the remaining waffles on the cream.  Refrigerate for at least 1 hour.  Garnish with the cherries before serving.  Bon appetit!
