Stuffed potato roll
A stuffed potato roll is a delectable dish where mashed potatoes are spread over a flattened dough, then filled with savory ingredients like cheese, bacon, herbs, or even vegetables.
Ingredients
3 potatoes peeled and cut into medium pieces
¼ grated onion
2 cloves of garlic, grated
2 teaspoons of salt
1 teaspoon pepper
1 tablespoon butter
2 teaspoons cornstarch
Stuffed
5 sheets of Manchego cheese
5 slices of ham
1 teaspoon vegetable oil
¼ onion finely chopped
1 clove of garlic finely chopped
1 teaspoon lemon juice
3 cups of washed and disinfected spinach
2 teaspoons of salt
1 teaspoon pepper
1-COOK the potatoes in a pot with boiling water and salt for 15 minutes.
2-REMOVE the potatoes from the water, mash them until they form a puree and add the onion, garlic, salt, pepper, butter, and cornstarch.
3-EXTEND a sheet of kitchen plastic, on it spread a layer of mashed potato half a centimeter thick.
4-ADD oil to a frying pan, sauté the finely chopped onion and garlic, add the spinach and season with salt and pepper; cook for 3 minutes and add the lemon juice. Let cool to room temperature.
5-PLACE the ham on top of the bed of mashed potatoes, then the cheese and finally the spinach.
6-ROLL the mashed potato with the help of kitchen plastic, shape it by squeezing it so that it is as round as possible.
7-PLACE the potato roll on a baking tray and bake at 180°C for 10 minutes or until the cheese melts.
8-REMOVE the stuffed potato roll from the oven and let it cool for five minutes before serving.
