INGREDIENTS
2 onions
2 cloves of garlic
400 g ground beef
1 egg (size M)
50 g breadcrumbs
2 tsp medium-hot mustard
2 tsp tomato paste (2x concentrated)
Salt
1 tsp paprika powder (rose hot)
freshly ground pepper
3 tbsp sunflower oil
½ tsp chili flakes
2 cans of chopped tomatoes (400 g each)
½ bunch of parsley (15 g)
PREPARATION
1. Peel the onions and garlic. Finely dice the onions and chop the garlic. Put the minced meat, egg and breadcrumbs in a bowl and mix with the mustard, tomato paste and half of the onion and garlic cubes.
2. Season with salt, paprika powder and pepper and knead vigorously for about 3 minutes. Form into small meatballs in portions (see portion information above). It is best to also do a small cooking test in the pan or microwave to taste the mixture.
3. Fry the meatballs in a pan in 2 tablespoons of oil over high heat for 3-4 minutes on all sides. Remove the meatballs from the pan and set aside.
4. Sauté the remaining onions and garlic in the pan in the remaining oil for 2-3 minutes. Add the chili flakes, sauté for 1 minute, deglaze with chopped tomatoes and reduce for about 5 minutes. In the meantime, wash the parsley, drain, pick off the leaves and chop.
5. Add the meatballs and half of the parsley to the sauce and continue cooking for about 10 minutes. Season with salt and pepper, sprinkle with the remaining parsley and serve with baguette, rice or pasta as desired. Enjoy your meal
