Farmer’s pot with minced meat
Our delicious and simple farmer’s pot with minced meat made according to grandma’s recipe leaves nothing to be desired! Lots of minced meat, peppers and potatoes – brilliant!
INGREDIENTS
2 onions
1 carrot
50 g celeriac
3 cloves of garlic
1 yellow pepper
1 red pepper
2 large potatoes
4 tbsp sunflower oil
400 g minced beef
1 tsp salt
¼ tsp ground black pepper
50 g tomato paste
100 ml water
400 g canned tomato pieces
300 ml vegetable stock
1 bay leaf
1 tsp dried Provencal herbs
PREPARATION
1. For the farmer’s pot with minced meat, peel the onions, carrot and piece of celery or remove the skin and cut into fine cubes. Peel and roughly chop the garlic. Wash the peppers, quarter them, remove the seeds and cut into large pieces. Peel the potatoes and cut into 2 x 2 cm cubes.
2. Fry the pepper pieces together with the onions and garlic in a pan in sunflower oil for about 3 minutes until golden brown. Add the meat and fry for about 5 more minutes. Season with salt and pepper during this time.
3. Now add the tomato paste and fry for about 1 minute at high heat. Then deglaze with the water. Add the tomato pieces and top up with the vegetable stock.
4. Add the potato, carrot and celery cubes with the bay leaf and simmer the pan with the lid closed for about 40 minutes. Just before serving, season with the dried herbs and salt and pepper. Enjoy your meal!
