Waffle cake
Cake without baking: This waffle cake with a fine cream and quark is not only surprisingly delicious, but also the easiest cake in the world!
INGREDIENTS
1 jar of morello cherries (approx. 370 g drained weight)
3 tbsp vanilla pudding powder
750 g cream
500 g quark
2 packs of vanilla sugar
4 tbsp sugar
500 g fresh egg waffles
PREPARATION
1. For the cherry compote, put the cherries and the cherry juice in a small saucepan. Remove 6 tbsp of the cherry juice and stir until smooth with the pudding powder. Add the mixed pudding powder to the cherries and bring to the boil over medium heat. Simmer gently for 1 minute. Remove from the heat and allow to cool.
2. For the filling, whip the cream with the vanilla sugar until stiff. Mix the quark with the sugar. Fold in the whipped cream.
3. Place half of the waffles either on a baking tray or in a casserole dish. Spread the cream and quark mixture evenly over the waffles and smooth it out. Spread the remaining waffles on the cream. Chill for at least 1 hour. Garnish with the cherries before serving. Enjoy!
