Gluten-free chocolate cake

Gluten-free chocolate cake with dark chocolate and ground almonds is completely gluten-free – but with lots of flavor. Have you tried the simple recipe yet?

INGREDIENTS (For a 20 cm mold)

80 g dark chocolate
100 g soft butter
150 g sugar
3 eggs (size M)
1 pinch of salt
150 g ground almonds
30 g baking cocoa
1 tsp baking powder (gluten-free)
Some butter for the mold
Some powdered sugar for sprinkling if desired

PREPARATION

Step 1
Preheat the oven to 180 degrees top/bottom heat. Grease a springform pan (Ø 20 cm). Chop the chocolate and melt it over a hot water bath. Allow to cool slightly.  Beat the butter and sugar until light. Separate the eggs. Stir the egg yolks and salt into the butter-sugar mixture.

Step 2
Beat in the chocolate. Mix the almonds, cocoa powder and baking powder and fold into the egg mixture. Beat the egg whites until stiff and also fold into the mixture.

Step 3
Put the dough into the springform pan and bake in the preheated oven for about 30 minutes. Don’t forget to do the toothpick test. Take it out of the oven and let it cool on a cake rack. Sprinkle with powdered sugar as desired before serving.
