Cornstarch Cookies

Cornstarch Cookies That Melt in Your Mouth

INGREDIENTS

• 500g cornstarch
• 200g butter or margarine (80% fat), at room temperature
• 1 can of condensed milk (395g)
• 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)

PREPARATION:

1. In a large bowl, mix the butter with the condensed milk until smooth.

2. Add the vanilla extract, if using.

3. Gradually incorporate the cornstarch, first with a spoon and then with your hands, until a soft dough forms that doesn’t stick to your fingers.

4. Form the cookies: Shape into balls and gently flatten them with a fork, or shape them into any shape you prefer.

5. Place them on an ungreased baking sheet (they won’t stick).

6. Bake at 180°C for 12 to 15 minutes, until firm on the outside. Don’t let them brown; they should remain white.

7. Let them cool completely before storing. They’ll be even better the next day!
