Chicken with Orange Sauce

Grilled Chicken with Orange Sauce

Ingredients:

– 1 whole chicken of approximately 1.5 kg
– 1 cup of orange juice
– 1/2 cup of honey
– 1/4 cup white wine vinegar
– 2 tablespoons of butter
– 1 medium onion, chopped
– 2 cloves of garlic, minced
– 1 tablespoon of fresh thyme, chopped
– 1 tablespoon of fresh rosemary, chopped
– Salt and pepper to taste
– 1 tablespoon of olive oil

Preparation:

1. Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F).

2. In a large bowl, mix orange juice, honey, vinegar, butter, onion, garlic, thyme, rosemary, salt and pepper.

3. Put the chicken in a baking fountain. Pour the orange mixture over the chicken, making sure to cover it completely.

4. Bake for 1 hour and 15 minutes, or until chicken is golden brown and meat is cooked through. Watch the chicken while cooking and spray the sauce from time to time to keep moisture and prevent it from burning.

5. Remove from oven and let sit for 10 minutes before serving.

Prep time: 20 minutes
Cooking time: 1 hour and 15 minutes
Servings: 4-6

Note: For a thicker sauce, you can reduce the orange mixture in a skillet over medium heat for 10-15 minutes before covering the chicken.

You can add a little brown sugar for a more caramelized sauce. If you don’t have a whole chicken, you can use chicken pieces, but the cooking time will be affected.
