Chocolate Cake with Strawberries

Chocolate Cake with Strawberries and Cream

Ingredients:

4 large eggs
1 cup sugar (200 g)
½ cup cocoa powder (60 g)
½ cup vegetable oil (125 ml)
1 cup milk (250 ml)
2 cups flour (300 g)
1 tablespoon baking powder (13 g)
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
400 g fresh strawberries
300 ml whipping cream (Chantilly cream)
3 tablespoons powdered sugar
300 g melted chocolate or ganache

Preparation:

1. Preheat the oven to 180°C. Grease a 25 cm square pan.

2. Beat the eggs with the sugar until foamy. Add the oil, milk, and vanilla.

3. Add the sifted flour, cocoa powder, and baking powder. Mix well.

4. Bake for 35 minutes.  Let it cool and cut into 2 layers.

5. Whip the cream with powdered sugar until stiff. Add half of the chopped strawberries.

6. Fill the cake with the cream and strawberries. Cover with melted chocolate and decorate with whole strawberries.
