HOMEMADE MEATBALLS
HOMEMADE MEATBALLS WITH TOMATO SAUCE
INGREDIENTS :
For the meatballs:
1 egg
1/2 cup grated bread
500g beef mince (or mix of beef and chicken)
2 cloves of garlic finely chopped
1⁄4 finely chopped onion
2 tablespoons of fresh chopped parsley
1⁄2 teaspoon ground cumin (optional)
Salt and pepper to taste
✓ For the sauce:
2 tablespoons olive oil (for frying)
4 ripe tomatoes , chopped
1⁄2 onion, chopped
2 cloves of garlic, minced
1 cup of chicken or beef broth
1 teaspoon of oregano
1 tablespoon of the olive oil
Salt and pepper to taste

PREPARATION.
1. In a large bowl, mix the ground beef with the egg, grated bread, garlic, onion, parsley, cumin, salt and pepper.
2. Form small balls with the mixture, the size you prefer.
3. Heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
4. Place the meatballs and fries all over until golden brown (about 7-10 minutes).
5. Pull out the meatballs and reserve.
6. In the same pan, add tablespoons of olive oil and saute the onion and garlic until golden brown.
7. Add the chopped tomatoes and cook for about 5 minutes until they are tender.
8. Add chicken broth or beef, oregano, salt and pepper. Slow cooker for about 10 minutes, until sauce thickens a little.
9. Return the meatballs to the sauce pan and slow cook for about 15 minutes, or until the meatballs are cooked inside.
10. Adjust salt and pepper to taste.
11. Serve the meatballs with the sauce and enjoy this delicious dish.
