Vegetarian pizza rolls
Vegetarian pizza rolls are the perfect finger food for parties and buffets. The ready-made dough is quickly filled and rolled up. The filling of tomatoes, peppers and cheese can be varied as desired.
INGREDIENTS
FOR THE PIZZA SNAILS
1 pack of pizza dough (approx. 400 g each, from the refrigerated shelf)
200g chopped tomatoes
1 tsp Italian herbs
some salt and pepper
1 tsp paprika powder (sweet)
½ red pepper
120 g grated cheese
ASIDE FROM THAT
a few basil leaves to garnish
PREPARATION
1. Roll out the pizza dough on a work surface. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees top and bottom heat (fan oven 180 degrees).
Line a baking tray with baking paper.
2. Place chopped tomatoes in a bowl and season with Italian herbs, salt, pepper and paprika powder.
Spread the sauce on the pizza dough. Wash, dry and cut the peppers into small cubes.
3. Spread the pepper cubes and grated cheese on the pizza dough. Roll up the dough tightly starting from the long side.
Using a serrated knife, cut into approx. 2 cm wide snails with little pressure.
4. Place the snails on the baking tray with a little space between them and bake in the preheated oven for about 25 minutes until golden brown.
Decorate the lukewarm snails with fresh basil leaves and serve. Bon appetit!
