Donuts from the oven
Donuts from the oven
With our recipe you can now make donuts from the oven yourself. The sweet rings made from yeast dough are super airy and juicy – without frying and lots of fat!
INGREDIENTS (For 10 pieces)
FOR THE YEAST DOUGH
350 g wheat flour (type 405)
60 g sugar
½ cube of fresh yeast
180 ml milk
2 egg yolks (size M)
1 tbsp butter
FOR THE DECORATION
200 g dark chocolate cake icing
3 tbsp colored sugar sprinkles
PREPARATION
Step 1
For the yeast dough, heat the milk to lukewarm. Sift the flour into a mixing bowl. Make a small hollow in the middle and sprinkle the sugar around it. Crumble half the cube of yeast into the lukewarm milk and let it dissolve. Pour the yeast milk into the well and stir with a fork to form a paste, cover and leave to rise for 15 minutes.
Step 2
Add egg yolks and soft butter to the yeast dough and knead everything into a compact, soft dough for at least 6 minutes. Cover the yeast dough and leave to rise in a warm place for 1 hour. Roll out the yeast dough on a floured work surface to a thickness of approx. 1 cm.
Step 3
Use a circle cutter with a diameter of approx. 10-12 cm (alternatively a glass will work) to cut out 10 circles. Cut out a small hole in the middle: a piping nozzle can also be used for this. Place the dough circles in a donut mold, cover and leave to rise again for 20 minutes.
Step 4
Preheat the oven to 180 degrees top/bottom heat (fan oven: 160 degrees). Bake the donuts in the preheated oven for approx. 15 minutes.
Let the donuts cool down a little and melt the cake icing according to the instructions on the packet. Place in a small bowl so that there is enough room for the donut.
Dip half of the donut ring in chocolate, turn it over, scrape off some of the chocolate and decorate with sugar sprinkles.
