Ingredients

For the cake

• 100 grams of butter.

• 3 large eggs.

• 250 grams of wheat flour.

• 250 grams of sugar.

• 50 grams of powdered sugar.

• 20 grams of baking powder.

• The game of a lemon.

• 200 milliliters of milk.

• 1 tablespoon of red food coloring.

• 1 spoon of vanilla.

To decorate

• 100 grams of butter.

• 250 grams of icing sugar.

• 500 grams of cream cheese.

Steps

The steps you must follow to prepare Red Velvet Cake:

Step 1

In a container place the flour and cocoa and baking powder.  Then, with the help of a strainer, we sift to prevent lumps from forming when preparing the mixture.

Step 2

In another container add the butter and sugar, then with the help of a mixer begin to make enveloping movements.  Like this, until the sugar is mostly dissolved.

Step 3

Add the eggs little by little, continue stirring so that everything is integrated and forms a homogeneous mixture.

Step 4

Add half of the preparation from step 2 together to all the liquids (vanilla, coloring and milk).  Keep beating so that the cake is fluffy.  Then, add the rest of the dry products.

Step 5

Place two molds of equal size and grease them.  Then, separate the dough into two equal parts.  Preheat the oven to 200°C and cook for 20 minutes.  Then, disassemble it and set it aside.

Step 6

To prepare the contour, place the butter in a bowl and melt in the microwave (30 seconds).  Subsequently, add the icing sugar and beat with the help of the electric or manual mixer.  Next, add the cream cheese but little by little and continue beating for 10 minutes.

Step 7

Cut each cake in half with the help of a pastry knife or saw.  To assemble it, place a little icing on a base, then a layer of cake, cream, and so on, until you have 4 layers.
