INGREDIENTS
FOR THE CAKE
250g soft butter
250g sugar
2 tsp vanilla extract
6 medium eggs
500g flour
1 packet baking powder
250ml milk
FOR THE DECORATION
250g powdered sugar
3 tbsp milk
4 drops pink food coloring
FOR THE DECORATION
1 handful of long chewy candies (e.g., Hitschler)
2 tbsp colored sprinkles
Also:
A little butter for greasing
A little flour for the pan
125g apricot jam

PREPARATION
Step 1
Brush a 26cm diameter wreath pan with a little butter and dust with flour. Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F) top and bottom heat (160°C fan-assisted).
Step 2
For the batter, place softened butter, sugar, and vanilla extract in a mixing bowl and beat for 5 minutes until creamy. Gradually add the eggs to the butter mixture and beat until smooth. Combine the flour and baking powder in a small bowl, sift into the batter, and stir briefly. Finally, add the milk to the batter and stir until smooth.
Step 3
Spread the batter into the prepared baking pan and bake on medium heat for 50 minutes until golden brown. After baking, let cool slightly. Once the pan is lukewarm, turn the cake out onto a wire rack and let cool completely.
