Strawberry Wonder Dessert with Jam

Ingredients

Cream:

1 can of condensed milk

2 cans of milk (use the can of condensed milk as a measure)

2 tablespoons of cornstarch

2 egg yolks, strained

1 teaspoon of vanilla extract

Strawberry Layer:

2 cups of washed and sliced strawberries

½ cup of sugar

½ cup of water

Topping:

200 g of strawberry jam

Whole strawberries for garnish

Preparation Instructions

Cream:

In a saucepan, dissolve the cornstarch in the milk.

Add the condensed milk and the strained egg yolks.

Cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until thickened.

Turn off the heat and add the vanilla extract. Set aside.

Strawberry Layer:

In another saucepan, place the sliced strawberries, sugar, and water.

Cook over medium heat until a light syrup forms and the strawberries are soft.

Drain and set aside the strawberries and syrup separately.

Assembly:

In a baking dish, spread the still-warm custard.

Spread the cooked strawberries on top.

Mix the strawberry jam with the reserved syrup and pour over the strawberries.

Garnish with whole strawberries.

Finish:
Refrigerate for at least 3 hours before serving to keep it nice and chilled.

Tip: You can substitute the strawberry jam with berry jam for a more intense flavor.
