Orange cupcake

Orange cupcake

Orange cake is a delicious citrus cake that combines the freshness of oranges with the sweetness of the dough. Its intensely orange aroma and flavor make it irresistible. It is a popular choice for afternoon tea or as a dessert in many cultures.

Ingredients:

• 2 large oranges (for zest and juice)

• 1 cup of sugar

• 1/2 cup melted butter

• 2 eggs

• 2 cups of wheat flour

• 1 teaspoon baking powder

• 1/2 teaspoon baking soda

• A pinch of salt

Steps:

Before preparing the orange cake, make sure you have all the ingredients ready and the orange well washed to obtain its zest and fresh juice.

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F) and grease a cake pan (usually about 22cm in diameter) or place parchment paper on the bottom to prevent sticking.

Step 2

Remove from the oven and let cool in the mold for about 10 minutes before removing from the mold. Then, place the orange cake on a rack to cool completely.

Once it cools, you can sprinkle some powdered sugar over the top or decorate it as you wish. Enjoy your homemade orange cake!

Step 3

In a large bowl, mix the melted butter and sugar until well combined.

Step 4

Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.

Step 5

In another bowl, sift together the wheat flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt.

Step 6

Add the orange zest and 1/4 cup freshly squeezed orange juice to the butter and sugar mixture, and mix well.

Step 7

Gradually add the dry ingredient mixture to the bowl with the butter and sugar mixture, alternating with the remaining orange juice. Start and end with the dry ingredients. Mix until you obtain a homogeneous mass.

Step 8

Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top with a spatula.

Step 9

Bake in the preheated oven for approximately 35-40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean.

Step 10

Remove from the oven and let cool in the mold for about 10 minutes before removing from the mold. Then, place the orange cake on a rack to cool completely.

Once it cools, you can sprinkle some powdered sugar over the top or decorate it as you wish. Enjoy your homemade orange cake!
