Steps
Make sure you have fresh strawberries and whipped cream ready for a deliciously creamy, flavor-packed cake. Enjoy your preparation!
Step 1
Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F) and grease and flour two 20cm (8in) round cake tins.
Step 2
In a large bowl, beat the butter and sugar until smooth and creamy.
Step 3
Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Then, add the vanilla extract.
Step 4
In another bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder and salt. Gradually add the flour mixture to the butter and sugar mixture, alternating with the milk. Start and end with the flour, beating on low speed after each addition until well combined.
Step 5
Divide the batter between the two prepared pans and smooth the top with a spatula.
Step 6
Bake in the preheated oven for about 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cakes comes out clean.
step 7
Remove the cakes from the oven and let them cool in the pans for about 10 minutes before turning them out onto a wire rack to cool completely.
Step 8
While the cakes are cooling, prepare the cream. In a large bowl, beat the whipping cream with the confectioners’ sugar and vanilla extract until you have soft peaks.
Step 9
Once the cakes are completely cool, place one of them on a cake plate and spread a generous layer of whipped cream over the top. Then, place strawberry slices on top.
Step 10
Place the second cake on top and cover the entire cake with whipped cream. Decorate with whole strawberries and sprinkle with powdered sugar if desired.
step 11
Refrigerate the strawberry cream pie for at least 1 hour before serving to allow the cream to set.
Enjoy your delicious strawberry and cream cake!
