CHICKEN FLAUTES RECIPE

CHICKEN FLAUTES RECIPE

Chicken flautas are a classic dish of Mexican cuisine that stands out for its delicious flavor and crunchy texture.  Chicken Flautas are filled with a seasoned blend of shredded chicken, onion, garlic, and spices, giving them an incredibly delicious and aromatic flavor.

Ingredients:

2 cooked and shredded chicken breasts,
12 corn tortillas, Vegetable oil for frying, Salt to taste.

For the filling:

1 chopped onion,
2 cloves of garlic, minced
1 can of crushed tomato (approximately 400g),
1 chopped jalapeno pepper (optional),
1 teaspoon ground cumin,
1 teaspoon paprika,
Salt and pepper to taste,
1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro.

At your service:

Chopped lettuce,
Sour cream,
Grated cheese,
Mexican sauce (optional).

Preparation:

In a frying pan, heat a little oil and cook the onion and garlic until soft and golden.  Add the shredded chicken to the pan and cook for a few minutes.  Then, add the crushed tomato, jalapeño pepper (if you are using it), cumin, paprika, salt and pepper.

Cook over medium heat for about 10 minutes, or until the mixture is cooked through and thick.  Add the chopped cilantro and mix well.  Remove from the fire and let cool.  Heat the tortillas on a hot comal or skillet for a few seconds on each side, just to soften them a little and make them more pliable.

Place a portion of chicken filling in the center of each tortilla and roll them up tightly, making sure they are tightly closed.  Heat enough oil in a large skillet or deep fryer over medium-high heat.

Fry the chicken flautas, in batches if necessary, until golden brown and crispy on all sides.  Drain them on kitchen paper to remove excess fat.  Serve the chicken flautas hot, accompanied by chopped lettuce, sour cream, grated cheese and Mexican sauce if you wish.

Enjoy these delicious chicken flautas, perfect to share with family and friends!
