CHICKEN HONEY SAUCE
CHICKEN IN SOY AND HONEY SAUCE
Chicken in honey soy sauce is a delicious combination of sweet and sour flavors. The mix of the salty intensity of soy and the sweetness of honey creates a balanced dining experience. This dish is characterized by its juiciness and the irresistible caramelization of the sauce during cooking.
Ingredients:
8 chicken thighs
1/2 cup soy sauce
1/4 cup honey
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 teaspoon sesame oil (optional)
Black pepper to taste
Chives or chopped green onion to decorate (optional)
Toasted sesame seeds to decorate (optional)
Marinate the chicken in a mixture of soy sauce, honey, garlic and ginger for at least 30 minutes to enhance the flavor. Cook over medium heat to achieve a caramelized glaze, but avoid overcooking to maintain juiciness.
Preparation:
• In a large bowl, mix the soy sauce, honey, minced garlic and grated ginger. Reserve some of the mixture for later.
• Place the chicken thighs in a resealable bag or deep bowl. Pour most of the soy-honey mixture over the chicken, making sure it is well coated. Marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes (you can let it marinate longer for more flavor).
• Preheat the oven to 200°C.
• Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Remove the chicken thighs from the marinade and place them in the pan to brown, about 2-3 minutes per side.
• Transfer the chicken thighs to a baking sheet. Pour a little of the reserved marinade over each thigh and sprinkle with black pepper to taste.
• Bake in the preheated oven for about 25-30 minutes or until the chicken thighs are cooked through and golden brown. You can turn them and brush them with more marinade halfway through the cooking time.
• If desired, before serving, drizzle the chicken thighs with a little sesame oil and garnish with chopped scallions and toasted sesame seeds.
Ready! Now you can enjoy delicious chicken thighs in soy and honey sauce. Enjoy!
