Dalgona Coffee

Dalgona coffee is a popular Korean drink, known for its frothy and sweet texture. It is prepared by beating instant coffee, sugar and hot water until you obtain a thick cream, which is poured over cold milk. It is a delicious and visually appealing way to enjoy cold coffee.


• 2 tablespoons of instant coffee

• 2 tablespoons of sugar

• 2 tablespoons of hot water

• Milk (it can be regular milk or vegetable milk such as almond, soy, etc.)

• Ice cubes (optional)

• Cocoa powder or cinnamon to decorate (optional)

Make sure you have the ingredients on hand and patience to blend it to the desired texture before enjoying it.


  1. In a bowl, combine the instant coffee, sugar and hot water.
  2. Use an electric mixer or hand mixer to beat the mixture at high speed. This will create a thick, creamy foam. You can do it by hand, but it will take more time and effort.
  3. Continue beating until the mixture is golden in color and the texture is similar to whipped cream. This usually takes 2 to 5 minutes.
  4. If you prefer a hot drink, heat the milk in a saucepan or in the microwave until it is hot but not boiling. Pour the hot milk into a cup.
  5. If you prefer a cold drink, fill a cup with ice cubes and then pour the milk over the ice cubes.
  6. Finally, place the Dalgona coffee mixture on top of the hot or cold milk.
  7. If you wish, you can sprinkle a little cocoa powder or cinnamon over the coffee mixture to decorate.
