Windmill Cookie
Windmill Cookie
Windmill cookies, also known as speculaas or speculoos cookies, are a beloved Dutch treat that embodies the warmth and spices of the holiday season. These cookies are traditionally made with a blend of cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, ginger, and sometimes cardamom, giving them a rich and aromatic flavor.
Ingredients
-125 g butter or margarine
-Half a tea glass of oil
-2 tablespoons of starch
-Half a glass of powdered sugar
-Half pack of vanillin
-2 cups of flour (let’s add it in a controlled manner)
-1 tablespoon cocoa to add to the other half of the dough
Préparation
Let’s take all the ingredients except the flour into a kneading bowl and mix them. Let’s start kneading by adding the flour little by little. Let’s get a soft dough that can be collected. Let’s divide the dough in half, add cocoa to half of it and knead it well.
Let’s prepare the plain and cocoa dough into tiny balls. You can watch the shaping stage by swiping left.
Let’s get them all ready, arrange them on the baking tray and send them to the oven preheated to 170 degrees.
They baked in my oven in 20 minutes. The cookies will be cooked to perfection when the bottoms turn slightly pink.
Do not remove them from the tray before they have cooled completely, they will harden as they cool
Bon appetit.
