Vanilla layer cake 🎂✨

A classic vanilla layer cake is a delightful treat, perfect for any occasion. Moist and tender layers of vanilla-scented cake are sandwiched together with creamy vanilla frosting, creating a heavenly combination of flavors and textures.


2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup unsalted butter, room temperature
1 1/2 cup sugar
3 large eggs
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
1 cup of milk

Vanilla Buttercream Frosting:

1 cup unsalted butter, room temperature
4 cups powdered sugar
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
2-4 tablespoons heavy cream


Preheat your oven to 350°F (176°C).  Grease and flour two 9-inch saucepans.
In a medium bowl, mix flour, baking powder and salt. 

Step aside.
In a large bowl, beat the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.  Add eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla.

Add the flour mixture to the butter mixture, alternating with milk.  Start and end with the flour mixture.

Divide the batter evenly among the prepared pans.  Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.

For the glaze, beat the butter until creamy.  Gradually add powdered sugar, vanilla and heavy cream until smooth and spreadable.
Once the cakes have cooled, frost with the vanilla buttercream, placing the cakes on
