Ingredients

To make grandma’s cake you will need products that are basic in any kitchen.  In fact, most of them are already available to you and you don’t need to go to the store to buy them.

• 50 units of cookies.

• 300 milliliters of milk.

Pastry creams

• ½ liter of milk.

• 3 large egg yolks.

• 100 grams of corn splint.

• 150 grams of sugar.

• Lemon zest.

• 1 tablespoon of lemon juice.

Chocolate cream

• 1 chocolate bar.

• 50 grams of butter.

• 150 grams of milk cream.

Steps

The process to prepare grandma’s cake is simple and will only take you a couple of minutes.  You just have to do the following:

Step 1

Begin preparing the pastry cream, place all the ingredients in a saucepan and mix them with your hand mixer so that they are all incorporated.

Step 2

Cook the mixture over medium heat and stir constantly so that lumps do not form or stick to the bottom.  Well, this will leave a bad taste.  After it starts to boil, you must turn it off and let it rest at room temperature.

For 3

For the chocolate cream, in a bowl add the heavy cream and the chocolate bar in pieces.  Next, place the mixture over low heat and begin stirring to prevent lumps from forming.  Then, let it begin to boil, turn off the pot and add the butter, incorporating all the ingredients.  Set aside to cool.

Step 5

In a 30 cm mold, place a layer of cookies previously soaked in milk.  Then, pour a dollop of pastry cream and return another layer of cookies.  Next, add the chocolate cream and spread it to form a small layer.  Repeat this process 4 times.

Step 6

When you finish forming all the layers you can decorate the top with nuts and let it rest in the refrigerator for 4 hours.
