Milk tablets

Milk tablets are a highly recommended recipe, since once you learn how to prepare them, you can enjoy them as a delicious snack in the comfort of your home or take them with you anywhere to enjoy them at any time of the day.  These exquisite tablets are made mainly with caramelized milk and sugar.  Discover how to prepare them!

Ingredients:

• 500 ml of whole milk (approx. 2 cups)

• 1 tablespoon of vanilla (approx. 15ml)

• 650 g of sugar (approx. 3 1/4 cups.)

• A pinch of baking soda

Make sure you have all the necessary ingredients and utensils ready before you begin preparation.

Preparation:

1. Before starting the preparation, it is important to grease a rectangular container or mold with oil that will be used to contain the entire mixture.

2. In another container, with the flame already on, combine the milk, sugar and vanilla.  Because sugar tends to form clumps, it is essential to whisk the mixture constantly, preferably using a wooden spoon, to ensure that it dissolves and comes together properly.

3. Next, reduce the heat to moderate and add a pinch of baking soda.  Continue whisking gently and steadily until the mixture becomes thick and caramel-colored.

4. The consistency of the mixture is crucial in this process as it determines whether it is ready or not.  For this reason, to test, take a small amount of the mixture and quickly immerse it in water.  Then check to see if it hardens when you touch it.  If the mixture hardens, you can turn off the flame;  Otherwise, it will need to be cooked a little longer until it reaches the desired consistency.

5. Once the mixture is ready, pour it into the previously oiled mold until it covers the entire space.  Let cool for about an hour so you can cut the milk tablets into the portions you want.

Milk tablets are ideal as a healthy snack or source of calcium, and their compact format makes them easy to take anywhere.  Enjoy its flavor and health benefits.
