Chicken shashlik

INGREDIENTS

FOR THE CHICKEN SHASHLIK

400 g skinless chicken breast
1 red pepper
1 yellow pepper
1 large onion
2 – 3 tbsp rapeseed oil
1 tbsp roast chicken or barbecue seasoning
½ tsp salt
1 pinch cayenne pepper (optional)

FOR THE SAUCE

100 g tomato ketchup
1 tbsp tomato paste
300 ml water
2 tbsp curry powder
1 pinch sugar
1 pinch salt

PREPARATION

1. For the chicken shashlik, dice the chicken breast into pieces about 3 x 3 cm in size.

2. Wash the peppers, quarter them and remove the core and white skin. Then cut into large pieces. Peel the onion, cut into eighths and remove the leaves.

3. For the marinade, put the oil in a bowl and stir in the spices. Marinate the chicken, peppers and onion pieces in it and then put them alternately on the skewers. Chicken, peppers, onions, chicken, peppers, onions, etc.

4. For the sauce, simply stir all the ingredients together, bring to the boil in a small saucepan and simmer over a low to medium heat until it reaches a creamy consistency. Season with salt and sugar.

5. Cook the skewers on the grill or in a pan for about 2 minutes per side and serve with the sauce. Tomato rice or a green salad goes well with it. Enjoy!
