Classic Recipe: Homemade Vanilla Ice Cream

Can you imagine always having an ice cream at home to offer after a meal or in the middle of a visit? Or for those intense, very hot days?  In this post we show you how to prepare a delicious and refreshing vanilla ice cream, which you will undoubtedly want to prepare immediately.

Ingredients

These ingredients will make your vanilla ice cream simple, but extraordinary:

• 1 vanilla bean (You should try to have a good vanilla. It noticeably interferes with the flavor of the ice cream.)

• 300 ml of milk

• 300 ml of whipping cream

• 4 egg yolks

Preparation of Vanilla Ice Cream

These are the steps to prepare a delicious homemade vanilla ice cream:

• In a metal container that is not so wide, but high enough, pour the milk and heat it together with the vanilla pod seeds, sugar and eggs.

• It is important to tear with your hands to get the seeds, not grind.

• Beat all the ingredients gently but persistently, thus preventing the sugar from sticking together with the egg.  Ideally, they should dissolve little by little.

• While it is heating, it is important to pay attention without neglecting the mixture for a second, since you cannot let it boil.  When it starts to bubble, it’s time to remove it to a bowl.

• Then, add the whipping cream, beat until combined.

• Grab a container with a lid and pour the ice cream cream and take it to the refrigerator.  Every half hour or failing that, 45 minutes, take out the ice cream.

• If thin ice caps have formed on the ice cream, beat it circularly and store it again.

• Repeat this procedure 4 more times.

• Finally, take the ice cream out of the refrigerator 10 minutes beforehand to distribute, so that it softens and so you can make the portions.
