Blackberry ice cream is a delightful treat that perfectly balances the sweet and tangy flavors of ripe blackberries with the creamy richness of ice cream. Made by blending pureed blackberries into a smooth custard base, this indulgent dessert captures the essence of summer in every spoonful.

Ingredients:

– 2 cups fresh blackberries
– 1 cup granulated sugar
– 2 cups heavy cream
– 1 cup whole milk
– 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Directions:

1. In a blender, puree the blackberries with half of the sugar until smooth. Strain through a fine-mesh sieve to remove seeds.

2. In a saucepan, combine the remaining sugar, heavy cream, milk, and vanilla. Heat over medium heat, stirring until the sugar dissolves completely.

3. Remove from heat and cool to room temperature. Mix in the blackberry puree.

4. Chill the mixture in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours, then churn in an ice cream maker according to the manufacturer’s instructions.

5. Transfer the churned ice cream to a freezer-safe container and freeze until firm, about 2 hours.
