You can easily make eggnog ice cream yourself with my recipe. This ice cream is guaranteed to be the perfect end to your next dinner. Your guests will love it!
INGREDIENTS (Serves 6)
FOR THE ICE CREAM
200 g heavy cream
250 ml milk
6 medium egg yolks
100 g sugar
200 ml eggnog
120 g dark chocolate shavings

PREPARATION
Step 1
For the ice cream mixture, bring the cream and milk to a boil in a saucepan. Place the egg yolks and sugar in a metal bowl and heat over a simmering water bath, whisking gently. The mixture should heat to approximately 80°C (176°F) and be very light and creamy after whisking. Add the eggnog to the egg yolks and whisk everything briefly again.
Step 2
Add the still-hot cream and milk mixture to the egg yolk mixture in small sips and stir until only one-third of the cream and milk mixture remains in the saucepan. Return the mixture to the heat in the saucepan over medium heat. Gradually add the egg yolk mixture to the cream and milk mixture in the saucepan and stir. Then let it thicken for several minutes, stirring continuously. Let it cool and then place it in the freezer for about 60 minutes.
Step 3
Prepare the ice cream maker according to the instructions and add the liquid. Freeze the eggnog mixture in the ice cream maker, stirring continuously. Add the chocolate shavings while stirring. Seal the ice cream tightly and freeze overnight, then serve. The eggnog ice cream will keep in the freezer for at least 3 weeks.
