CHEESE ROLLS
CHEESE ROLLS
Ingredients:
6 cups flour
200 g margarine
1/2 liter milk
200 g sugar
3 tablespoons Royal or baking powder
1 tablespoon Salt
3 egg yolks
2 whole eggs
Stuffed:
1/2 kg grated cheese
2 tablespoons red ground chili
2 tablespoons red ground paprika
1 whole egg (to paint the roll)
Preparation:
1. Sift all the flour and place in a bowl. Make a little hole in the middle of the flour and place the royal powder or baking powder, also sifting it.
2. Add the tablespoon of salt and the cup of sugar to the sides of the flour. Mix everything very well.
3. Add the margarine, breaking it into small pieces by hand. Mix with your fingers so that everything is integrated.
4. Separate the 3 yolks from the 3 whites. Beat the egg whites with a mixer until stiff and set aside.
5. Separately, beat the yolks with the 2 whole eggs and make a little hole in the flour mixture to add and mix everything with your hands. You should not knead it, just mix it to integrate.
6. Add the milk little by little and mix until you get a dough with good consistency. If it is very sticky, add flour, and if it is very dry, add a little more milk. The dough should be manageable and smooth. Reserve for about 10 minutes.
7. Mix the egg whites until stiff with the grated cheese, then add the chili pepper and paprika. Mix everything.
8. Divide the dough into 4 buns and stretch them with a wooden roll until they are flattened, add the cheese on top as if it were a pizza, then wrap the cheese with the sides of the dough, until it forms an elongated roll. Add a little cheese on top.
9. Paint the rolls on top with the beaten egg with a pinch of sugar. Then put them in a bowl and cook them at 180 degrees for 30 or 40 minutes.
