Dalgona Coffee
Dalgona coffee is a popular Korean drink, known for its frothy and sweet texture. It is prepared by beating instant coffee, sugar and hot water until you obtain a thick cream, which is poured over cold milk. It is a delicious and visually appealing way to enjoy cold coffee.
Ingredients:
• 2 tablespoons of instant coffee
• 2 tablespoons of sugar
• 2 tablespoons of hot water
• Milk (it can be regular milk or vegetable milk such as almond, soy, etc.)
• Ice cubes (optional)
• Cocoa powder or cinnamon to decorate (optional)
Make sure you have the ingredients on hand and patience to blend it to the desired texture before enjoying it.
Preparation:
- In a bowl, combine the instant coffee, sugar and hot water.
- Use an electric mixer or hand mixer to beat the mixture at high speed. This will create a thick, creamy foam. You can do it by hand, but it will take more time and effort.
- Continue beating until the mixture is golden in color and the texture is similar to whipped cream. This usually takes 2 to 5 minutes.
- If you prefer a hot drink, heat the milk in a saucepan or in the microwave until it is hot but not boiling. Pour the hot milk into a cup.
- If you prefer a cold drink, fill a cup with ice cubes and then pour the milk over the ice cubes.
- Finally, place the Dalgona coffee mixture on top of the hot or cold milk.
- If you wish, you can sprinkle a little cocoa powder or cinnamon over the coffee mixture to decorate.
