Fried potatoes
Fried potatoes
You can easily make perfect fried potatoes yourself using grandma’s original recipe! It’s best to prepare them in a pan using boiled potatoes – then they will be wonderfully crispy and super tasty.
INGREDIENTS
600 g potatoes (waxy, medium size)
1 tsp salt
2 – 3 tbsp sunflower oil for frying
¼ tsp ground pepper
50 g butter
PREPARATION
1. For the fried potatoes, cook the potatoes with the skin on in lightly salted water for about 25 minutes. Drain the water and rinse the boiled potatoes with cold water and allow to cool. Peel the cooled potatoes and cut them into thin slices. You should halve large potatoes lengthways beforehand.
2. Heat the oil in the pan. Add the potato slices and fry them on both sides over a medium heat until crispy. Do not turn the potatoes too often, otherwise they may fall apart.
When the potatoes are fried on both sides, add the butter in small flakes and fry the fried potatoes for 2 minutes, turning them carefully, until golden brown. Season with salt and pepper. Of course, chopped herbs such as parsley, chives or dill can also be sprinkled over the potatoes. Enjoy your meal!
