Schillerlocken

Schillerlocken are a delicious pastry that you can easily bake yourself without a baking pan.  With this recipe, you’ll have these sweet pastries in no time!

INGREDIENTS (for 6 pieces)

For the Schillerlocken
1 package of puff pastry from the refrigerated section (270 g each)
1 egg for brushing

FOR THE FILLING

200 g cold cream
1 package of cream stiffener
1 package of vanilla sugar
1 tsp powdered sugar

ALSO

2 tbsp powdered sugar for dusting

PREPARATION

Step 1
Preheat oven to 200°C (top/bottom heat: 180°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Step 2
For the cones, cut the pre-cut baking paper (38 cm x 42 cm) in half. Then cut the strips diagonally. Then twist the triangles into cones and fold the ends into the opening. For security, the ends can also be staplered.

Step 3
For the Schillerlocken: Cut the puff pastry lengthwise into 6 strips and wrap them onto the cones. Start at the tip and wrap them overlapping all the way to the end. Place the end of the puff pastry strip on the baking sheet. Insert a fork into the side of each cone to keep the Schillerlocken nice and round.

Step 4
Whisk the egg and brush the Schillerlocken with it. Bake for 20 minutes until golden brown. Let the Schillerlocken cool briefly. Carefully remove the fork and the baking paper if the Schillerlocken are still warm. Caution! The fork may still be very hot.
