Before preparing Christmas gingerbread cookies, make sure you have all the ingredients and utensils ready and follow the recipe step by step to obtain delicious cookies with a festive touch.  Enjoy baking!

Preparation:

1. In a large bowl, sift together the flour, ginger, cinnamon, cloves, baking soda, and salt.  Mix the dry ingredients well and set aside.

2. In another large bowl, beat the butter and brown sugar until smooth and creamy.

3. Add the molasses, egg and vanilla extract to the butter and sugar mixture.  Mix until well combined.

4. Gradually add the sifted dry ingredients to the wet mixture and mix until the batter is smooth.

5. Divide the dough into two parts and wrap them in transparent film.  Refrigerate the dough for at least 1 hour, or until it is firm enough to handle.

6. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

7. Roll out the dough on a floured surface until it is about 1/4 inch (0.5 cm) thick.  Use Christmas cutters to cut the cookies into different shapes and place them on the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between each one.

8. Bake the cookies in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown.

9. Remove the cookies from the oven and let them cool on the tray for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

10. Once the cookies are completely cool, you can decorate them with royal icing, sprinkles, or other Christmas decorations if you wish.

Enjoy your delicious Christmas gingerbread cookies!  You can store them in an airtight container so they stay fresh for several days.
