Puff pastry with minced meat
Puff pastry filled with minced meat is enjoyed by the whole family.You can prepare the simple recipe in a relaxed manner and then put it in the oven when you’re hungry.
INGREDIENTS
1 pack of puff pastry (270g; from the refrigerated shelf)
1 medium onion
1 red pepper
2 tbsp neutral cooking oil (e.g. sunflower oil)
500g mixed minced meat
100 g grated cheese (e.g. Gouda)
2 eggs (size M)
Some salt for seasoning
Some pepper to season
PREPARATION
1st step
Preheat the oven to 200 degrees top/bottom heat (fan oven: 180 degrees). Line a baking tray with baking paper.
Peel the onion and cut it into fine cubes. Wash and dry the peppers, remove the core and cut into small cubes.
2nd step
Heat the oil in a pan and fry the onion cubes until translucent, then add the minced meat and fry. Finally add the diced peppers and fry.
Let the mixture cool, then mix in the grated cheese and 1 egg and season everything with salt and pepper.
3rd step
Separate the second egg. Roll out the puff pastry and brush each side with egg white.
Spread the minced meat mixture onto the dough, leaving an edge free on the side. Roll up the dough from the short side, pressing the ends together slightly.
4th step
Brush the puff pastry roll with egg yolk and bake in the preheated oven for about 25 minutes until golden brown. Then cut into slices and serve warm.
The puff pastry with minced meat filling makes approx. 10 slices and will keep in the fridge for at least 2 days.
